Don't Brag or Be Boastful!

Jesus says, we have authority over the enemy. We have the power to trample him under our feet and destroy him. The enemy can not hurt us when we trample on Him in Jesus name. Did you get that last part? When we do this in Jesus name. Not when we do this in our name. No, I do not go around saying, in the name of Neta you have to bow down, you have to flee. No, I say in the name of Jesus. When we pray for someone or a situation and the devil flees, it is not because of what we did, no the devil is not afraid of you. But he is afraid of Jesus, even the name of Jesus just being spoken over a situation will cause the devil to flee. The word tells us not to be gleeful about this, not to rejoice in the fact that we caused him to flee. In other words do not get all excited and say, I made the devil flee from here, because the truth is the reason he fled was because the name of Jesus was being spoken. Even when Jesus was on the earth as man, He would tell people when He healed them, now go and tell no one. In other words, He knew that it was the Father working through Him, and His belief in what the Father said had to happen, and not of His own works. Jesus was always humble and gave glory to the Father and not to Himself. That is why Jesus, says we have the same authority He had on earth, because the authority was given to Him by the Father and it is given to us by the Father. Jesus walked on this earth as a man, as human, and He had faith in the Father and the word of God, that is where His miracles came from. The Father. If we could only grasp that reality, there would be a lot more miracles going on today. Because God, is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He is not going to change. So remember when you cause the enemy to flee, give God the glory and not yourself.

In Luke, when Jesus sent the seventy out to the cities to bring in the harvest, they came back all excited about how the enemy was subject to them in His name. But you see, the enemy was subject to the name of Jesus not to the disciples. In other words the authority is not in the messenger but in who the messenger represents.

Luke 10 vs 17-20...Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name." And He said to them, I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you that authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in Heaven."......

In Luke we read where Satan tempted Jesus at every turn while He was in the wilderness, but Jesus always responded with "It is written". In other words, He says, but My Father says it will be this way. He didn't say, well I say that is not going to happen, no He says, "It is written". He quoted the word of God over every situation the devil threw at Him. So you see, we have the same authority Jesus was given, we just have to know what the word says in other words what the Father says and we will conquer the same as Jesus did.

Heb. 13 v 8....Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever....

Mark 16 vs 17-18....he who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: in My Name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.........

So you see, Jesus gave us the same authority the Father gave unto Him, and His word says He is the same forever, so that means we still have the ability to perform miracles in His Name today. Grab a hold on this and mediate on it and get it in your heart, so that when someone needs healing you have the same authority as Jesus to get it done by believing and using His Name, so that the Father may be glorified.
