Confessing The Right Words

When we confess things over ourselves, we want to make sure we are confessing the right words. The bible teaches us how important it is that we call those things that are not as though they were. Here is an example of something I heard this morning that really hit home with me in particular.

When we are changing our life style to get our bodies into a more healthy state, and weight, we should not be saying things like, I only have 20 lbs to lose, because you are confessing that you will always have 20lbs to lose. Instead we should be saying I am a healthy weight of 125 or whatever your weight should be. We need to lose the word diet because we are confessing ourselves to always be on a diet. We need to start confessing what we are suppose to be, and changing our lifestyle to have the healthy body God intended for us to have.

We should be confessing thanks to the Lord for all good things, instead of trying to confess our sins and keep ourselves in condemnation. That is not the Lord's will or plan for your life. If you continue to confess your sins, you continue to speak that over yourself.

It all goes back to Abram and Sarai when God told them at the healthy ages of 100 and more that they would be bearing a child and from this child would come many nations. What did God do? He changed Abram's name to Abraham which means father of many nations, and He changed Sarai's name to Sarah and said she would be mother of nations.

We need to quit using nick names unless they are taking the place of a name that doesn't have any meaning. For instance I use this as an example because I call my son Josh instead of Joshua. When in fact his name actually does have good meaning. Joshua means God saves. So now I will only call him Joshua instead of Josh. That is just an example.

What do you need in your life? Start confessing that you have it instead of that you need it. If you keep saying you need it, then you will always need it. On the other hand, if you continue to confess you have it even when you do not, it will come to pass. AMEN!

If I continue to confess my weight is 125lbs or less and my waist size is 31" or less, and I believe that what I say will come to pass, then my body has to line up with what I am saying when I mix what I am saying with faith. When your words are mixed with faith then what you are saying will come to pass. Just like if you keep saying I have 20 lbs to lose and you believe that then you will always have 20 lbs to lose. Are you getting it?

Genesis 17 v 1-6....When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appreared to Abram and said to him, "I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless., and I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly." Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him saying; As for Me, behold My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you....

Well we know the story, Sarai tried to help God out by sending her maid Hagar into Abram and from them was born a son Ishmael. This was not God's plan. He told Abram he and Sarai would be parents. He told them that Sarah would be mother of nations, not Hagar.

Genesis 17 v 15-16.....Then God said to Abraham, "As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name. And I will bless her and also give you a son by her; then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be from her."......

Remember Abraham was 100 and Sarah was 90 and has been barren all her life. So what does Abraham do? He tries to tell God, that He must mean Ishmael will be the one to carry on the lineage. You see, he already had Ishmael by Hagar, he could see this in reality but he was questioning God on him having another son by Sarah. Don't we all do that? Don't we look at our circumstances and try to put our trust there instead of what the word says? But God says no, Sarah will give you a son and you shall call his name Issac and from him shall come your descendants.

And then we all know the story of Issac and Abraham going up the mount so that Abraham could sacrifice Issac to God, but the whole while knowing that God said many nations would come from Issac, so he knew that God would provide the sacrifice and it would not be Issac, as no descendants had yet came from him. That is faith in what God says to be true, and not faith in your circumstances. AMEN!

So if any others are out there like me, changing your life style to a healthy life style, changing your weight to a healthy weight, changing your waistline to a healthy waistline (this being more important than your actual weight) (to get your healthy waist size, take your height in inches and divide by 2) then start confessing that you already are the size you need to be. Don't take your measurements then start thinking immediately how much you need to lose, no start confessing the size you need to be as though you already are that size. Don't go the other way, as you would be putting condemnation on yourself. And that is the enemy's way of keeping you where you are. The enemy knows the importance of your words. Start confessing divine health over yourself, and your lifestyle will change as you confess the right words over yourself. AMEN!

Now don't confess while eating your twinkies and drinking your pop. Renew your mind with the word of God, and change your lifestyle with the renewing of your mind and with your words lining up with His word. AMEN!

STAY IN THE WORD!
