The Light of God

Read 1 John Chapter 1

To have fellowship with the Father, we must first have fellowship with the Lord Jesus. As long as we fellowship with the LORD, we do not have to walk in darkness. In fact, if you are fellowshipping with the Lord (abiding in Him) then you can not walk in darkness. That would be contradictory to what the word says.

1 John 1 vs 5-7....This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.......

What do we mean by walking in darkness? It means living an immoral life style that is not in agreement with the Word. When we continue to sin, or whine and complain, or overindulge in things, in other words when we live contrary to how the word tells us to live, then we are walking in darkness. We may think we are in the light, but during the time we are sinning we are in darkness. An easy way to know if you are living right is to ask yourself daily, am I being the best Christian I can be today, is what I am doing pleasing to the LORD? If you answer no, then you might want to turn around, confess what you are doing wrong and turn your light back on before you stumble off into something deeper and darker.

Quit carrying around a flash light to see your way, and start leaving your light on bright and shining. God has no problem paying the light bill.
