Change Our Focus

We read the verse in scripture that says resist the devil and he shall flee from you. So during the day when something comes against us, we say, go away devil I am covered by the blood. You have to flee. But here is the question, How many times a day do you resist the devil? Where is your focus. Are you constantly reminded all day long of what the devil is trying to do to you? Then maybe your focus is too much on the devil and his acussations and not on God. You see the more time we spend with God in His word, the less time we have to be focused on the devil. You say, I can't just spend all day in the Word, I have things to do, I have to work. That's fine, but if the Word is in you then you can take the Word with you wherever you are at work, washing clothes, keeping kids, shopping, exercising, whatever you are doing, you can meditate on His word, and then the devil has no room to come in and accuse. AMEN!

James 4 v 7-8a....Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.Draw near to God and He will draw near to you....

IS 54 v 17....."No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgement you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord."......

What is God telling us here? That once we are a child of His, there is nothing that the devil can accuse us of, he has no right to bring up our past, because Jesus has already taken care of it. He has already forgiven us, and now we are the righteousness of God through Jesus. The devil comes to kill, steal, and destroy, so if you are having bad thoughts about yourself, know that this is not God convicting you, these are thoughts from the devil your accuser. Shut him up with the word of God by staying focused on what God's word says about His love for you, and don't give the devil a foothold into any area of your thoughts. AMEN!

Jesus said He leaves us with His peace, and with a sound mind. He says once we come to Him and repent of our sins, He remembers them no more. We have only to bring them up to Him once, and ask for His forgiveness, and He remembers them no more. The Holy Spirit is our comforter not our accuser, so when those sins creep up in your mind, that is not the Holy Spirit trying to convict you of something that you did wrong, remember Jesus said the Holy Spirit is our comforter, not our convicter. The verse above from IS 54 tells you this, when it says that every tongue that rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. That verse tells you it is not the Holy Spirit convicting you of something because you can not condemn the Holy Spirit. AMEN! The accuser here is the devil trying to get your focus off what God has done for you, and get your focus on how unworthy you are. Remember if it is not good, it is not God.

If you haven't already made Jesus Lord of your life, then do it now. Don't wait. Don't let the devil continue to beat you up everyday for all of your past sins. Turn to Jesus instead and let Him share His love for you so that you can have peace and a sound mind, so that you can enjoy the blessings He wants to give you, so that you can share in His joy.

Pray this prayer,

Jesus, come into my heart. Lord I know you died on the cross for my sins, and you rose again so that I would not have to experience the pains of death. Lord Jesus, I ask you to take my life, and to forgive me where I have sinned. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. From this day forward, Lord, I want to live for you. AMEN.

There will be a feeling of freedom now in you. A freedom from your past, present and future sins. He has already forgiven you for them all. He will not accuse you of anything, but He will be there to catch you when you fall. When you get turned around and things seem to be going the wrong way, STOP, and turn to Him and He will always provide a way out. If you will stay in His word and get it deep in your heart so that you can meditate on it throughout your day you will drown out what the devil is trying to say to you. AMEN!

STAY IN THE WORD!
