Asking Without Doubt

Today I heard a message that I have been hearing alot about lately. Doubting when we ask God for something. The word tells us to ask and not doubt and we shall have what we ask. The word says when we ask without faith, but rather have doubt, then we should not even think that we are going to receive anything. The message has been that we should not come to God until we can believe that we will receive. So that we are not like a double minded man, not knowing which way to go or which way to believe.

James 1 v 6-7....But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double minded man, unstable in all his ways.....

A good example of being of the right mindset would be in Mark 5 v 25-34 about the woman with the issue of blood. She was determined that if she only touched the hem of the garment of Jesus that she would be healed. She believed and was not going to be persuaded otherwise. Or how about in Mark 2 about the men who carried the paralytic to the house where Jesus was so that they could get their friend healed. They were determined and when the crowd was so big that they could not get through, they tore off the roof and let the man down through the roof. These men were obviously single minded about what they believed. When Jesus saw their faith He told the man to get up and take his bed and go home that his faith had made him whole, that he was healed. Jesus knew there was no doubt in their minds, just like the woman with the issue of blood, He knew there was no doubt in her heart, He saw her faith and told her she was healed. AMEN!

When we have an issue that we need the Lord to take care of, we first have to believe, so that we may receive. If we come to Him with doubt and unbelief then the word says do not suppose you will receive ANYTHING.

How do we become single minded instead of double minded in our faith? By renewing our minds with the word of God. We have to stay in the word to get a renewed mind. The teaching I heard today said it like this: "A renewed mind comes by acting out the word day after day in every situation."

Romans 12 v 1-2.....I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God......

This is what the message was about, you must have faith actions to get faith results. Our house must be built in the land of faith, most Christians have built their house between two lands, (faith and reason). We have to make up our minds where we are going to live. In faith or in reason. Faith is a substance of things hoped for, not seen. Remember what we said about hope. Our hope is in the Lord, He is our anchor. He is not going anywhere. He will always be there when we come to Him. Faith is not built on wishes or logic. Faith is in our Hope, In Jesus. AMEN!

Hebrews 11 v 1...Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.....

STAY IN THE WORD!
