Enough Practice

When we are wanting to do something to perfection, we practice it over and over again until we can do it in our sleep without fault. Athletes do this with their game, dancers do this with their dancing. They practice to the point that they become so natural at whatever it is, that they need no more practice with that one routine, it just comes naturally to them. We as Christians need to do this until we come to the point that we do not need to practice but that it just comes natural. Going to church just on Sunday, or one day of the week is not going to get you there. Only opening your bible when at church is not going to get you there.

We need to get into the word and study it every day, worship the Lord everyday, sing praises to Him, go to Him in prayer about everything, totally trust Him with everything, have compassion for His people everyday, feed His sheep everyday, until these things come naturally to us.
When we start living our lives for Him instead of for ourselves, all of this will come natural for us. When someone cuts us off in traffic, instead of obscenities, we will smile and say be my guest. We will say you can go first, I will wait. We will quit being in such a hurried rush all the time, and actually maybe enjoy the things and people around us.

We will stop worrying over things, since we will know and it will just be natural for us to trust God to provide for our every need. I read in Andrew Womacks devotional that worrying is blasphemy against God's promises to you. WOW! Think about that!

When we read in 1 Kings 17 v 13 where Elijah tells the widow woman to go and make him a cake first with the little meal she has left, and her seeing that all she has in the jar is enough for one cake, that she was planning on making for her and her son, and then they could die, yet she has had enough practice in seeking the Lord that she recognizes this man as a messenger of the LORD and that she trusts what he says the Lord says to do, and then there was plenty. God said He would provide and He did. Her meal did not run out until the drought was over. She was able to trust GOD naturally. When you go against what the eye can see, and believe what the LORD has said, then you have come to the point of trusting naturally. You have had enough practice. AMEN!

Philippians 4 v 19.....And my GOD shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.....

Matt. 6 v 31-34...."Therefore do not worry saying, what shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or What shall we wear? For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of GOD and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.".....

1 Kings 17 v 13-14......And Elijah said to her, "Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me, and afterward make some for yourself and your son. For thus says the LORD GOD of Israel; "The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the LORD sends rain on the earth."........

We just need to trust and obey. What area do you need practice in with your Christian life? Is it in trusting, giving, worshiping, singing praises to Him? Whatever area we need practice in, we will find our partner in practice in the Holy Spirit, our helper He left us with. We just need to practice, practice, practice.............and then practice.
